NEW DELHI, India - The Indian government has appointed a high-level commission to study what long-term effects the Bhopal gas leak might have on people, animals and plants. The five-member commission will serve for two years and be responsible for corroborating research on human, animal and plant life before and after the disaster. More than 2,000 people were killed and about 200,000 injured when poisonous gas leaked from a Union Carbide plant last Dec. 3 .
