Dear Mr Stavropoulos

Sub: A letter from Bhopal, India                            

We hope you realize that through your successful merger to become the second largest chemical corporation in the world you have by your own volition accepted the liabilities arising out of the world’s worst industrial massacre.

The 2-3 , December 1984 Union Carbide Disaster in Bhopal.

We, representatives of survivors organizations in Bhopal would like to remind you of the following ethical, moral and since it is important to you ; legal liabilities, that follow from the disaster:

1. Those arising from the killing of thousands of people and assaulting hundreds of thousands through reckless corporate conduct.
2. Those arising from the withholding of vital medical information by Union Carbide as "business confidential" and thus impeding medical treatment of the survivors.
3. Those arising from the devastation of family economies due to gross inadequacy of restitution.
4. Those arising from toxic contamination of the soil and ground water in the communities next to the Union Carbide factory in Bhopal.

Through this letter, and on the occasion of your merger with Killer Carbide, we demand that you let us and the world know how you aim to discharge the above liabilities.
