ethecon honours the Sudan activist Tomo Križnar and shames the manager and major shareholders of DOW CHEMICAL / Public ceremony of awarding the ethecon awards and presentation „Stop FRONTEX!“
On occasion of the International Day of Peace on September 21st, 2015, ethecon – Foundation Ethics & Economy announces the recipients’ names of the two familiar ethecon awards 2014/2015.
The International ethecon Blue Planet Award honours the efforts of Slovenian activist for human rights and peace Tomo Križnar, the International ethecon Black Planet Award denounces the chairman of the board Andrew Liveris and board member James Ringler and the major shareholders of the chemicals group DOW CHEMICAL (USA).
The awards ceremony will take place November 21st in Berlin’s “Pfefferwerk”.
Over many years Tomo Križnar has been working in Sudan at the risk of jeopardising his own life between the fronts of the raging war, and he stands up for sustainable peace. The board members and major shareholders of DOW CHEMICAL are, among others, responsible for 30 years continuing of the impacts of the greatest chemical disaster in the history of industries in Bhopal/India.
Mia Farrow said about Tomo Križnar: „‘There is no one remotely like Tomo Kriznar. Over decades, with singular courage and conviction he has journeyed through the most remote and perilous parts of Darfur and Southern Sudan documenting atrocities, taking photographs and compiling information that is as invaluable as his humanitarian endeavours.’ “
It is more different when looking at the board members Andrew Liveris and James Ringler as well as the major shareholders of the chemicals group DOW CHEMICAL (USA). The justification Black Planet Award 2014/2015 they say: „No matter, if party contributions during election campaigns, tax evasion, environmental destruction, from support of genetic engineering to radioactive contamination, manipulated measurements, war mongering, price manipulation, corruption – DOW CHEMICAL is involved in countless crimes against humans and environment. The company’s president and chairman of the board and supervisory board Andrew Liveris, the member of the board and audit committee James M. Ringler as well as the group’s major shareholders are the ones that need to be held responsible for the decisions and actions at DOW CHEMICAL (USA). They own the group. They run the company. They are acting to increase their personal power and private wealth. With the decision of shaming the board members Andrew Liveris and James Ringler as well as the major shareholders of DOW Chemical, ethecon’s curatorship and board are explicitly referring to the proposal for a human rights charter “Health, Safety and Environmental Rights of Workers and Communities” passed in 1994 by Permant Peoples’ Tribunal (PPT), and the United Nations’ human rights charter,
The International ethecon Awards will take place during a public ceremony. The honorific speech for Tomo Križnar will be delivered by Alfred Buss, Amnesty International, coordinator Sudan/Southern Sudan, the shaming speech for the board members and major shareholders of DOW CHEMICAL will be delivered by Indian doctor Dr Mali Muttanna Mallappa of Sambhavna Trust Clinic/ Bhopal.
The ceremony will be framed into the ethecon congress about the latest topic „Stop FRONTEX – fight refugee causes and not refugees!”. The presentation will be done by a famous representative of ProAsyl.

Zum Internationalen Tag des Friedens am 21. September 2015 verkündet die Stiftung ethecon die Namen der Empfänger der beiden bekannten ethecon Preise 2014/2015.
Der Internationale ethecon Blue Planet Award ehrt den Einsatz des slowenischen Menschenrechts- und Friedensaktivisten Tomo Križnar, der Internationale ethecon Black Planet Award stellt die Vorstände Andrew Liveris und James M. Ringler sowie die GroßaktionärInnen des Chemie-Konzerns DOW CHEMICAL (USA) an den Pranger.
Am 21. November werden im Berliner Pfefferwerk die Preise verliehen.
Tomo Križnar ist u.a. seit Jahren unter Einsatz seines Lebens im Sudan vor Ort zwischen den Fronten des dort tobenden Krieges aktiv und setzt sich für nachhaltigen Frieden ein. Die Manager und Großaktionäre von DOW CHEMICAL sind u.a. verantwortlich für das 30-jährige Andauern der Folgen der größten Chemiekatastrophe in der Geschichte der Industrie in Bhopal/Indien.
Mia Farrow sagte über Tomo Križnar: „Nicht im Entferntesten gibt es solch einen Menschen wie Tomo Križnar. Seit Jahrzehnten reist er mit einzigartiger Courage und Überzeugung durch die abgelegensten und lebensgefährlichen Gebiete in Darfur und im Süd-Sudan, um Gräueltaten zu dokumentieren, zu fotografieren und Informationen zusammenzutragen, die von solch unschätzbarem Wert wie sein humanitäres Engagement sind“ (Orig.i.Engl.).
Ganz anders die Vorstände Andrew Liveris und James M. Ringler sowie die GroßaktionärInnen des Chemie-Konzerns DOW CHEMICAL (USA). In der Begründung zur Verleihung des Schmähpreises Black Planet Award 2014/2015 heißt es: „Ob es um Parteifinanzierung bei Wahlen geht, Steuerhinterziehung, Umweltzerstörung von der Unterstützung der Genmanipulation bis hin zur radioaktiven Verstrahlung, Fälschung von Messungen, Kriegstreiberei, Preismanipulation, Bestechung – DOW CHEMICAL ist in zahllose Verbrechen gegen Mensch und Umwelt verwickelt. Der Präsident, Vorstands- und Verwaltungsratvorsitzende Andrew Liveris, das Vorstandsmitglied und Mitglied des Wirtschaftsprüfungsausschuss James M. Ringler sowie die GroßaktionärInnen sind verantwortlich für Entscheidungen und Handeln des Chemie-Konzerns DOW CHEMICAL (USA). Ihnen gehört der Konzern. Sie leiten die Firma. Sie handeln zum Vorteil persönlicher Macht und privater Bereicherung. Dafür treten sie Moral und Ethik mit Füßen und nehmen den Untergang der Erde als Schwarzer Planet in Kauf.“ (Begründung Internationaler ethecon Black Planet Award 2014/15 vom 21.09.2015)
Die Verleihung der beiden internationalen ethecon Preise erfolgt in einem öffentlichen Festakt. Die Laudatio für Tomo Križnar hält Alfred Buss, Amnesty International, Koordinator Sudan/Südsudan, die Schmährede für die Manager und Großaktionäre von DOW CHEMICAL der indische Arzt Dr. Mali Muttanna Mallappa der Sambhavna Trust Clinic/ aus Bhopal.
Eingebettet ist der Festakt in die ethecon Tagung zum aktuellen Thema „FRONTEX stoppen – Fluchtursachen bekämpfen und nicht die Flüchtlinge!“. Das Referat hält ein namhafter Vertreter von ProAsyl.

El esfuerzo por el planeta azul
Ethecon honra al activista sudanés Tomo Križnar y reprueba a los ejecutivos y a los grandes accionistas de DOW CHEMICAL / Acto de entrega de premios de ethecon con la ponencia “ Detenga a FRONTEX”
Con motivo del Día Internacional de la Paz, el 21 de septiembre de 2015, ethecon – Fundación Ética & Economía anuncia los nombres de los galardonados con los dos conocidos premios de ethecon 2014 /2015.
Los premios serán entregados en Berliner Pfefferwerk el 21 de noviembre.
Entre otras cosas Tomo Križnar arriesga su vida activamente en Sudán entre los frentes que participan en la guerra que allí se desarrolla e intercede en favor de una paz sostenible. Los directivos y grandes accionistas de DOW CHEMICAL son responsables entre otras cosas por los 30 anos de efectos persistentes de la catástrofe química más grave en la historia de la industria química en Bhopal/ India.
Mía Farrow describió a Tomo Kriznar asi: “No existe en alsoluto nadie como Tomo Križnar. Desde hace décadas viaja con coraje y convencimiento únicos por las regiones más lejanas y peligrosas en Darfur y en el Sur de Sudán para documentar las atrocidades que allí se cometen, fotografiando y recopilando informaciones de un varlor tan inestimable como su empeno humanitario” (trad. del inglés).
Totalmente diferente los directivos Andrew Liveris y James M. Ringler así como los grandes accionistas del consorcio químico DOW CHEMICAL (EE.UU.) . La entrega a ellos del Award internacional ethecon black 2014 /2015 se basa en lo siguiente: “ Trátese de la financiación de campanas electorales de determinados paridos, evasión de impuestos, destrucción del medio ambiente que va desde el apoyao a la manipulación genética hasta la contaminación radioactiva; falseamiento de mediciones o de motivar la guerra, manipulación de precios o sobornos. Estos son algunos de los innumerables crímenes contra las personas y el medioambiente en os que está implicada DOW CHEMICAL (EE.UU). El presidente de la junta directiva y directivo de la adminsitración Andrew Liveris, el miembro de la junta directiva y mienbro de la comisión de economía James M. Ringler asi como los grandes accionistas son responsables por las decisiones y actuaciones del Consorcio Químico DOW CHEMICAL (EE.UU.) A ellos les pertenece la empresa y son quienes la dirigen. Actúan en aras de su poder personal y del enriquecimiento privado. Para ello pisotean la moral y la ética y favorecen la degradación de la Tierra y su conversión en un Planeta Negro. El protectorado y la junta directiva de ethecon se basan expresamente en la propuesta aprobada en 1994 del Permant Peoples Tribunal (PPT) en la Carta de los Derechos Humanos “ Salud, Seguridad y derechos ambientales de los trababadores y las comunidades ( Health, Safety and Enviromenttal Rights of Workers and Communities) y en la Carta de los Derechos humanos de las Naciones Unidas en su toma de decisión de reprobar a los miembros de la junta directiva Andrew Liveris y James M. Ringler así como a los grandes accionistas de DOW CHEMICAL.
La entrega de ambos premios internacionales de ethecon se realiza en un acto público. Alfred Buss de Amnistía Internacional y coordinador de Sudán y Sursudán hará la laudatoria a TOMO KRIZNAR y el médico , Dr. Mali Muttana Mallappa de la Clínica Sambhavna Trust de Bhopal es el encargado para la de los directivos de grandes accionarios de DOW CHEMICAL.
En este acto está incluído en el congreso de ethecon con el tema actual “Detengan a FRONTEX. – Combatir las causas de la huida y no los desplazados. La conferencia la dictará un conocido representante de ProAsyl.

A l’occasion de la Journée Internationale de la Paix, le 21 septembre 2015, la fondation ethecon annonce les noms des lauréats des prix ethecon 2014/2015:
Le Prix International ethecon Blue Planet Award 2015 rend hommage à Tomo Križnar (Slovénie) pour son travail militant en faveur des Droits de l’homme et de la paix. Le Prix International ethecon Black Planet Award, quand à lui, jette l’opprobre sur le groupe de l’industrie chimique DOW CHEMICAL (USA), son PDG Andrew Liveris, le membre du Directoire James M. Ringler et ses gros actionnaires.
Depuis de nombreuses années, Tomo Križnar s’engage au Soudan malgré la guerre qui y sévit. Au péril de sa vie, il intervient pour une paix durable entre belligérants. A l’opposé, les dirigeants de DOW CHEMICAL sont responsables, 30 ans après, du fait que les conséquences de la plus grande catastrophe chimique de l’histoire de l’ère industrielle, Bhopal (Inde), ne soient toujours pas prises en compte.
De Tomo Križnar, Mia Farrow dit : C’est un être d’exception. Depuis des dizaines d’années, avec un courage hors pair et une conviction profonde, il traverse les régions les plus dangereuses et les plus isolées du Darfour et du Soudan du sud pour documenter, photographier et rassembler des informations sur les massacres commis, activités tout aussi précieuses que son engagement humanitaire » (traduit de l’anglais).
Il en va tout autrement des membres du directoire du groupe de l’industrie chimique, DOW CHEMICAL, Andrew Liveris et James M. Ringler ainsi que de ses gros actionnaires. L’attribution du prix de la honte Black Planet Awars 2014/2015 se justifie ainsi :
« Qu’il s’agisse de financement des partis lors des élections, de fraude fiscale, de destructions de l’environnement allant la manipulation génétique à la contamination radioactive, qu’il s’agisse de falsification de données, d’ententes illicites sur les prix ou de corruption, DOW CHEMICAL est mêlé à une multitude de crimes contre l’Humain et l’environnement.
Andrew Liveris, son PDG, président du directoire et du conseil d’administration, James M. Ringler, membre du directoire et du comité d’audit, de même que les gros actionnaires portent la pleine responsabilité des décisions et des pratiques du groupe, car c’est à eux qu’il appartient. Ce sont eux qui le dirigent. Ils agissent en fonction de leurs intérêts personnels dans le seul but de s’enrichir, n’hésitant pas à piétiner les valeurs morales et éthiques, même si pour cela il faut détruire la planète et la transformer en un astre mort ». (Justification pour le prix du déshonneur, l’International ethecon Black Planet Award du Black Planet Award 2014/15, le 21 septembre 2015).
Pour prendre sa décision d’attribuer son prix de la honte à Andrew Liveris, Jame Ringler et aux gros actionnaires de Dow Chemical, Ethecon se base sur la proposition, formulée en 1994 par le Tribunal Permanent des peuples, d’une charte des Droits Humains « Santé, sécurité et droits environnementaux des travailleurs et des collectivités » (Health, Safety ans Environmental Rights of Workers und Communities) et sur la Charte des droits de l’homme des Nations Unies.
Les deux prix internationaux ethecon seront remis, à Berlin, lors d’une manifestation ouverte au public.
C’est Alfred Buss, coordinateur « Soudan/Soudan du sud » auprès d’Amnesty International, qui prononcera l’éloge de Tomo Križnar et le médecin indien, Dr. Mali Muttanna Mallappa de la Sambhavna Trust Clinic/ Bhopal, qui, dans son discours, condamnera les actes des responsables et gros actionnaires de DOW CHEMICAL.
Dans le cadre de cette cérémonie, Ethecon organise une conférence sur le thème d’actualité « Stopp à FRONTEX – combattre les causes des migrations et non les migrants ! », qui sera tenue par un eminent représentant de l’association ProAsyl.

À la différence de fondations d’entreprises, de familles, d’Églises, de partis politiques et d’États, ethecon est l’une des rares fondations „d’en bas“. Elle compte à l´heure actuelle 39 membres fondateurs et fondatrices, qui se sont donné pour devise de s´engager „pour un monde sans exploitation et sans oppression“, dans un esprit de responsabilité envers les générations futures. Cette fondation très jeune se finance par des donations des fondateurs-trices, dons et cotisations de soutien.
