Sep 2011: Dr. Satinath Sarangi has been honored with Man of the Year 2010 Award by The Week Magazine. Satinath Sarangi has kept the Bhopal gas tragedy unforgotten in the past 26 years and remains the primary contact for those who are concerned about the victims. Sathyu (Satinath) has championed the cause of Bhopal gas victims and fought for their rights. He left PhD mid-way to help the victims of the tragedy. He is extremely humble and has spent his entire life to help the poor and down-trodden people. He has established ayurvedic, yunani and allopathic hospitals in Bhopal and still serves the victims. In thespirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
