Unable to decide on the amount it should seek from Dow Chemical Company and erstwhile Union Carbide as enhanced compensation for the Bhopal gas leak, the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers has put on hold the move to file a curative petition in the Supreme Court. The ministry has told its lawyers that it intends to take the matter back to the Group of Ministers (GoM) and request it to take the call on the subject.
Sources in the government told The Indian Express that the curative petition, which was in the process of being prepared by advocate Dev Dutt Kamat and settled by Attorney General Goolam E Vahanvati, has been put on hold till the GoM makes its recommendations.
Among the issues which the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers is unable to decide on its own is the amount it should claim as enhanced settlement from the company.

A write-up filed at the honourable supreme court in 2008 was nothing short of a prayer seeking adjudication in their conclusive nature vide recources as any intended curative petition particularly the orders of the honourable s.district court in manhattan following prior to the judgement of the honourable district bhopal court..,,,,,,,,,,,and ofcourse the world community’s reaction to bp and others who have been the harbinger of fair corporate accountability post their satiation of interim demands for measures. The centre’s stand however of seeking the additional sums makes all stake holders see the light at the end of the tunnel. The theory of justice however would have to be met by any courts in the discharge of their duties and obligations in even redefining the theory of justice.may all souls lost and hurt find some solace in the confines of our hearts where all that bleeds is a symbolic red enshrined with the coat of arms in hues of black.
