Volunteering for the Bhopal Group for Information and Action (BGIA)

The BGIA, a Bhopal-based voluntary organisation formed in June 1986 continues to work on all kinds of research, publications and campaigns in support of the survivors' struggle for justice.

In conjunction with the survivors' organisations, we set up www.bhopal.net (this website!), to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the Bhopal tragedy. In the six months since then the site has grown rapidly to become the most comprehensive website on the 1984 Union Carbide tragedy and gateway to 100s of other Bhopal pages on the web.
The site carries details of protests and campaigns; the latest press clippings; legal updates; corporate news and archive material.
The BGIA needs a politically aware web person to expand the site and create a forum for exchange of questions, views and ideas. Creativity, attention to detail and web research skills are vital, as are a willingness to contribute to other BGIA activities such as press releases, campaign co-ordination, and the occasional typing job.
