Destitute pensioners demonstrate

BHOPAL FEBRUARY 15: The Nirashrit Pension Bhogi Sangharsh Morcha on Thursday demonstrated at Sadar Manzil-BMC headquarters against increasing water tax, property tax, supply of polluted water in the city and against the prevalent corruption in various departments of the municpal corporation.

before the demonstration, a rally was taken out by the Morcha from Neelam Park, which was led by its state president Balkrishna Namdeo, social worker Ms Akhtar Jahan, Badar Alam Chand, Narain Prasad Soni and Usha Mishra.

The rally passed through Budhwara Chowk, Moti Masjid before reaching  Sadar Manzil.

Addressing the gathering Morcha president, Balkrishna Namdeo said that hundreds of widows, old age and physically disabled people are deprived of pension in spite of being eligible for it.

He said that although pension books were made by the municipal corporation for the destitutes so far hundreds of people were not paid pension.

A delegation of the destitutes also met commissioner DP Tiwari and held discussion with him. Tiwari assured that orders would be issued to all zone officers for the distribution of pensions regularly.
