America's second ranked chemicals firm Dow Chemical Co. said on Monday it plans to focus
on India as a key region for its business development. In a statement released through its
public relations agency in India, the firm said it had set up a new business region for
the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent headquartered in Dubai.
"There is tremendous synergy between Indian resources and Dow expertise which, through a partnering approach, can be leveraged for mutually beneficial development,'' the statement quoted William Stavropoulos, Dow's chief executive officer as saying. The statement did not elaborate on what partnerships Dow was planning to explore.
