Bhopal Anniversary Vigil at Berkeley

Over 40 people attended a candle-lit vigil in Berkeley tonight to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Bhopal Disaster. A photo exhibit of Bhopal survivors were displayed on the steps of Sproul Plaza, and people gathered to stand in solidarity with survivors. The vigil included reading testimonial of Bhopal Survivors, a moment of silence, playing the new Autorickshaw song “Cities of Lakes” and Terry Allen’s “Flames not Flowers,” and speeches by many members of a broad coalition of supporters. The event was sponsored by 15 Bay Area organizations.
