Reacting to the overwhelming outrage against accepting sponsorship from Dow Chemical for their November Music Festival in Chennai, India, The Hindu newspaper cancelled the sponsorship within days of its announcement.

Dear Editor,
I am very pleased indeed to hear that you have declined Dow Chemical Company’s sponsorship for your November music festival. I want to thank you for your sensitivity to your fellow citizens. Returning Dow Chemical’s money owing to its insensitivity in dealing with the Bhopal issue is a commendable act which will go a long way in reminding Dow that people will not forget Bhopal until justice is done.
